Model with us at CAST!

We're attending the Science Teachers Association of Texas (CAST) November 9 - 11. Check out our booth #123 to get hands-on with our dynamic kits and models. Attend our sessions in Room 361BE for interactive, collaborative learning with fellow educators. This year's sessions include:

  • It All Begins with Water
  • Un-cooking the egg - Modeling protein structure and denaturation in the classroom
  • Hurry up and wait! – Utilizing “downtime” in Biotechnology wet labs -> Plasmid Ligation
  • Dynamic DNA: More Than Just A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s
  • It’s All in the Genes – Exploring Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance through modeling
  • Enhancing Molecular Models with Augmented Reality
  • Water, water everywhere, but how did it get in there?  - Modeling the movement of water (and ions) across cell membranes
  • Introducing Mighty Models: From Water Channels to Action Potentials
  • It’s time to talk about it - Addressing the opioid epidemic with high school students
  • The view from 1,000,000X: a tour of the human cell
  • The Science of Infectious Diseases
  • Bridging the Cellular and Molecular Worlds with David Goodsell’s Landscapes

Science Spotlight

3D Molecular Designs is now a part of a museum! In exciting news, the Joseph Moore Museum in Indiana established a permanent exhibit for DNA Day. The DNA Starter Kit© is featured in this exhibit to help young students learn more about DNA's double-stranded structure. Museum staff, educators, and students worked collaboratively to build the exhibit, and it's now available to the museum's 13,000 annual visitors. Read the full article about the establishment of this exhibit!

Introduce Modeling to Your Students!

Let your students discover the joys of modeling with the DNA Starter Kit©! This friendly, interactive foam DNA model is perfect for middle schoolers and students new to modeling. Make double-stranded DNA and single-stranded RNA, then introduce the basics of DNA structure to your students so you can move into replication and transcription. You can start modeling more complex science topics using intricate kits and models. Grow your students' fascination with molecular science by introducing them to modeling!
