Visit us at Conferences Nation-wide!

3D Molecular Designs is showcasing our kits and models at conferences across the nation. Over the next two weeks, we will be presenting at NABT, STANYS, ASTA and CAST. Stop by our booth to get hands-on with our dynamic kits and models. Attend our sessions for interactive, collaborative learning with fellow educators.

Sessions include:

  • Water water everywhere, but how did it get in there? - Modeling the movement of water and ions across cell membranes
  • Going with the Flow - From Genes to Proteins Using 3DMD Modeling Kits
  • Oh Meiosis! Modeling The Processes That Create Genetic Diversity
  • DNA With A Twist - Use Of Multiple Models In The Classroom
  • Dynamic DNA: More Than Just A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s
  • It All Begins with Water
  • The Science of Infectious Diseases
  • and more!

Best of all, we give away a kit or model at each session and have opportunities for you to win a gift certificate to our store. Click here to learn more about our upcoming conference sessions.

Modeling the Molecular World Applications are Open!

Applications for Modeling the Molecular World are now open! Dive into the fascinating world of molecular modeling during this week-long course.

At this course, you will:

  • Gain modeling insights about our kits and models
  • Become eligible to join the 3DMD Model Teacher Program
  • Join a community of educators passionate about classroom modeling
  • Bring home over $900 worth of kits to your classroom

This year, we are offering early-bird pricing for our Modeling the Molecular World professional learning courses this summer. Make your plans to attend Modeling the Molecular World next summer, these prices are available for a limited time. Don't miss out on this golden opportunity to unlock the secrets of science at unbeatable rates!

The usual cost of the course is $900 and includes a collection of collaborative kits and interactive models. Now, through February 1, you can secure your spot for $750 and still receive the collection of 3DMD kits and models! We even have special rates if you bring a friend!

Applications are now open, so make your plans to model with us next summer.

Science Spotlight

L. Kate Wright, PhD, is the Head of the Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and has a passion for improving student learning. She co-leads the Molecular Biology Education Research (MBER) Group, which works to understand how students think about molecular biology and develops tools to help improve their understanding. In this paper she co-authored,  Wright uses 3D Molecular Designs kits and models to explore how physical models help students better understand the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology. We collaborated with Wright on the Science of Genome Editing summer courses and webinars, and we look forward to future opportunities to work with her!

Improve Student Mastery of the Central Dogma

Featured in the article written by Dr. Wright, the Dynamic DNA Kit©, Flow Of Genetic Information Kit©, and Map of the Human ß-Globin Gene© are all great additions to your classroom! Hands-on modeling allows students to experience molecular science concepts in a new way. Use these interactive kits to help your students make sense of the Central Dogma by modeling DNA replication, translation, and transcription, DNA encoding, and constructing the DNA double-helix.
