A Transformative Modeling Experience!

Modeling the Molecular World has impacted the teaching of educators across the country. As Arnie said, "get your students excited about science!" and come join us in this life-changing experience for yourself! Our first session begins June 26 - 30 and our second session will be held July 17 - 21. If you've already registered for our summer course, be sure to invite a colleague along with you! Science Spotlight

Virginia Man-Yee Lee, PhD, is currently the director of the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research and co-director of the Marian S. Ware Alzheimer Drug Discovery Program at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She's known for her research into Neuropathology, Immunobiology and Experimental Pathology which has contributed to our understanding of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and other neurodegenerative disorders. In 2020, she was awarded a Breakthrough Prize for her research on Parkinson’s disease and Multiple System Atrophy. You can read about her award, and see a Symposium Talk by her here. We'll be sharing more accomplishments from scientists with AAPI heritage throughout Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, so stay tuned!

Teaching Chromosomes Made Easy!

The Chromosome Connections Kit© is the perfect complement to the Flow of Genetic Information Kit© for additional lessons and understanding of genetics to your students. The nucleotide pieces allow your students to examine chromosomes at both the microscopic and molecular levels through modeling processes like mitosis and meiosis. Additionally, students can explore multiple types of inheritance, determine how mutations lead to different alleles, and see the relationship between genes and chromosomes.
