It's Good to be Back

This week we moved into our newly renovated office space! Most of our professional staff work from our offices in downtown Milwaukee, and after growing our team and recovering from a building fire last year, we’ve worked hard to create a space where innovation thrives. We're excited to use this space for future courses, including this year's Modeling the Molecular World, and we hope you come and see it for yourself!

Science Spotlight

Biochemist Roger Tsien, PhD, won a Nobel Prize for the discovery and development of the green fluorescent protein (GFP). We use this protein as a marker for detecting proper gene insertion and expression, imaging of living cells, and tracing cellular pathways. Without his work with fluorescent probes, we wouldn't have the understanding of the inner workings of the cell that we do today. We're incredibly grateful to Roger Tsien's research ourselves, as it led to the development of one of our legacy models of the GFP, the first model we developed and the first model we displayed at an international conference! The research and dedication of researchers like Roger Tsien inspire us to create models of innovations in the molecular world.
