The Science Behind Infectious Diseases
3D Molecular Designs is excited to announce that we've been awarded an NIHSEPA grant! This Infectious Diseaseproject will allow us to develop interactive kits and models focused on bringing cutting-edge science to the classroom. Covid-19 showed how important it is for everyone to understand infectious disease science better. Science Spotlight
Fredrick Sanger, PhD, was a biochemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry twice. Sanger earned his first Nobel Prize in 1958 for determining the amino acid sequence of insulin and other proteins. His work showed that every protein has a unique structure, which is instrumental to our understanding of the central dogma of molecular biology. He won his second Nobel Prize in 1980 for creating a method of DNA sequencing involving electrophoresis, which we now call Sanger sequencing. In the video below, you can watch an interview with Sanger, where he reminisces about his incredible career that laid the foundation for our current understanding of molecular science.
