Heather Ryan is the new 3D Molecular Designs CEO

Continuing the Excellence and Innovation

in science education 

At their August owners meeting, 3D Molecular Designs' (3DMD) partners unanimously approved Heather Ryan as the company’s next CEO. Diane Herman, the previous CEO, is now the Chief Strategy Officer, focusing more on large scale projects. Diane will remain active in all aspects of the company, including conferences and summer courses.

Heather has been a pivotal member and partner of the 3DMD team during her 17 years, most notably collaborating with teams of people for manufacturing and creative education programming. Some of her accomplishments with us include:

• Securing over $2 million in SBIR grant funds
• 3DMD Model Teacher Program concept development
• Directing our webinar series to include hands-on modeling
• Reimaging our traditional kits to create Student Modeling Packs in response to the pandemic and remote learning needs
• Development of 3DMD's small-scale manufacturing center
• Implementation of the college production internship program
• New product development efforts
• Dynamic DNA development, production, crowdfunding, and being one of the inventors on the patent
